Venture Unit
The Venture Unit is made up of youths between the ages of 14 and a half years up to 18 years. The section gives a helping hand in the other sections and assist leaders when this is required. The majority of the members also make part of our group’s Pipe Band. The Venture Unit has its own committee which organizes various activities such as Campings, Abseiling, Canoeing, Trekking and many more.
Apart from these activities, each member must participate in the Venture training programme called the Olympian Award. The award is split into 7 missions each named after a Greek god. The seven missions are Apollo, Athena, Demeter, Hades, Hermes and Poseidon. Each mission is subdivided into smaller tasks each carrying a number of points. The award is completed when the member has collected a total of 600 points.
The Zurrieq Venture Unit is made up of 27 members and 2 leaders. The Venture Scout Leader Jeffrey Cachia and assistant William Buttigieg help supervise the youths during their activities.
